Obstetrics and Gynecology field
  • 1
Uterine cancer clinic (cervical and endometrial cancer)
The clinic focuses on early diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of cervical and endometrial cancers. Extensive hysterectomy is performed without laparotomy through robots and laparoscopy, and in particular, it preserves the pelvic autonomic nerves to minimize urination disorders that are common after surgery. In particular, robotic surgery enables resection on deep lymph node, which is difficult to access, and is greatly helpful in preventing local recurrence. The treatment of uterine cancer in women who need to preserve the uterus is also performed through robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
  • 2
    Ovarian cancer clinic
Most ovarian cancer is already advanced when it is detected, so it is most important to totally remove residual tumors with surgery. To this end, we are working together with various departments to improve the patient's survival rate. In the case of early ovarian cancer, surgery is possible using laparoscopy or robots without laparotomy.
  • 3
Benign gynecological disease clinic (uterine myoma, adenomyosis, endometriosis, ovarian tumor)
Most of the benign gynecological diseases common in women are treated through minimally invasive surgery without laparotomy. Depending on the patient and the condition of the disease, we can perform robotic surgery, laparoscopy, or vaginal operation to provide the best treatment. In particular, to preserve unmarried women’s fertility, excellent experienced medical staff are performing robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
  • 4
Gynecological minimally invasive surgery center (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, robotic surgery, single-port access operation, vaginal hysterectomy)
Our department has been undergoing minimally invasive surgery for 20 years, and many medical personnels from home country and foreign countries visited our team to learn the latest surgical techniques. With minimally invasive surgery, bleeding can be minimized and patient’s recovery can be fast compared to conventional laparotomy. In addition, it leaves fewer scars, which is an excellent method in the view of cosmetic purpose.
  • 5
    Robotic surgery
Robotic surgery enables more accurate and complete treatment through three-dimensional images and sophisticated robot arms. In particular, we can perform resection on deep lymph node and treat difficult cases such as advanced cervical cancer that are difficult to do with conventional laparoscopy. This department is the first in the country to achieve 300 gynecological robotic surgeries, and gynecologists from foreign countries are visiting us for robot surgery training.
  • 6
Single port surgery (an operation with a single hole in the belly button)
This is a method of performing surgery with only a 2.5cm incision in the navel. Not only benign gynecological diseases but also early gynecological cancer can be treated by this method. It can be recommended for unmarried women or women who are sensitive to wounds because there are few scars left after surgery.
