Pediatric Cardiology

Introduction of department
  • The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatirc Cardiology has played a central role in Daegu and Regional area in treating patients with congenital heart disease. In addition to congenital heart disease, the center focuses on treating and managing pediatric acquired heart disease, arrhythmia, and pulmonary hypertension. The Center is doing its best to diagnose fetal heart abnormalities through the Fetal Heart Clinic and endeavors to provide the best medical services to grown-up congenital heart disease patients through the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic.
  • For accurate diagnosis and treatment, the center uses the latest echocardiography machine, 12-guided electrocardiogram, 24-hour Holter monitoring, blood pressure monitoring system and exercise load cardiopulmonary function tester, cardiac CT, and MRI. The center also conducts cardiac catheterization, interventional treatment (device closure for atrial septal defect and patent ductus arteriosus, balloon dilatation for stenotic vessel and valve, etc.), and electrophysiologic study and catheter ablation for arrhythmia.
  • The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatirc Cardiology at Kyungpook National University Children's Hospital provides fast and reliable diagnosis and treatment to help children and adolescents with heart disease overcome disease and restore health.
