Introduction of department
The Department of Obstetrics is making constant efforts to provide the best medical services for the health and happiness of mothers and fetuses.
Through cooperation with other departments, we are devoting ourselves to cope with emergency situations before and after childbirth that may occur to mothers.
Pregnant women with various pregnancy complications such as premature birth, bleeding, high blood pressure, and diabetes are being prevented and treated in cooperation with a specialists in the outpatient and ward.
The delivery room is equipped with spaces and medical devices for treating pain, delivery, surgery and obstetric emergency patients. There are ‘family delivery rooms’ where not only mothers but also thier families can participate together in all procedure ;labor, delivery and recovery.
We have a rooming-in system, actively encouraging breastfeeding, and our newborn medical staffs provide an optimal environment for the most natural mother-child relationship at the hospital.
For pregnant women and their families, healthy newborns is the beginning of a new happiness. Unfortunately, however, 2-3 percent of newborns are born with severe or mild congenital abnormalities, and it is well known that the presence or absence of accompanying chromosomal or genetic abnormalities play an important role in determining the prognosis of the fetus in the congenital abnormalities of the fetus. To determine this, total prenatal examinations such as targeted obstetric ultrasound, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and echocardiography are performed.
Our department aims to provide an integrated medical service that diagnoses fetal abnormalities before birth and implements the best treatment after birth through cooperation with related departments such as pediatrics, surgeons, thoracic surgery, pediatrics urology, pediatrics and laboratory medicine.
